The Château du Lude is an absolutely superb example of the fairy-tale castles of the Loire and is really worth a viewing. Le Lude benefits from a good climate, with moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine in the summer time. It is a lively town with a good collection of amenities. There are all the shops you could hope to find, including wonderfully French boulangeries. Then there are supermarkets and all the usual service industries too. Every Thursday sees the arrival of a traditional outdoor market, and on certain summer evenings the town also puts on atmospheric night markets.
